Our school-based nursing service offers confidential healthcare directly within schools, focusing on improving children's well-being and accessibility to care. Working in collaboration with external providers and guided by Te Tiriti O Waitangi principles, we provide comprehensive services, including health education and wound management. Currently serving Camberley School, Mangateretere School, Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, Te Kura o Kimi Ora, and Te Kura o Pakipaki, we strive to meet the unique needs of students and families.
Our school-based nursing service provides confidential care within schools, focusing on improving the health and well-being of our children. Our goal is to make healthcare more accessible by identifying and addressing their needs, ensuring timely referrals, and collaborating with external providers with your consent. We work in alignment with Te Tiriti O Waitangi Principles, aiming to offer integrated care for your children and families.
Services include:
Health education on hygiene, exercise, healthy eating, and lifestyle
Skin checks
Wound assessment and management
Allergy, bee sting, and insect bite assessments
Ear checks
School/sports injury care
Communicable disease prevention and control
Childhood immunizations
We're also developing and piloting Doctor/Nurse-led clinics within our schools.
